Privacy Policy

Elie ("we", "us") is an iPhone app for a short daily ritual: a vision board, affirmations, guided audio and a daily horoscope. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads or track you across other apps and websites.

Your account

When you first open the app we create an anonymous account, so the answers you give during setup are saved as you go. At the end of setup you can sign in with Apple to keep your ritual safe and restore it on a new iPhone. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email; we then receive a private relay address from Apple. If you share your name, we receive that too.

Information we collect

• About you: your first name and your birthday. We use your birthday only to work out your zodiac sign.
• Your setup answers: what you'd like to grow, what gets in your way, how you've been feeling, what you'd love to see in your life, a personal dream if you choose to share one, what holds you back, your relationship status, and the style of affirmations you prefer. These shape your affirmations, vision board ideas and horoscope tips.
• Your vision board: photos you choose to add and the labels you give them. The app can only see the photos you pick, not your whole library. Your board is stored privately and only your account can open it.
• Your ritual activity: which rituals you complete each day, your streak, the audios you listen to, and the quotes and audios you save.
• Settings: your reminder time, whether notifications are on, your language and your time zone (so your day starts at your midnight). If you allow notifications, Apple gives us a push token to send your reminder.
• Feedback: messages, feature ideas, votes, ratings and screenshots you choose to send us, with your app version and device model so we can fix problems. If you cancel a subscription and answer our short survey, we keep your answer.

Your profile photo, if you add one, stays on your iPhone.

AI personalization (only if you agree)

Before writing your first affirmation, the app asks whether your answers may be shared with an AI service to personalize your affirmations. If you agree, we send the relevant answers (for example your focus areas, the dream you shared and your preferred style) to Anthropic, which generates the text and returns it to us. Anthropic processes this data to provide the service to us and doesn't use it to train its models. If you choose Not now, nothing is sent and your affirmations come from our own library. You can change your choice any time in Profile → Privacy & account → AI personalization.

Horoscopes

Daily readings come from DivineAPI. We request readings for each zodiac sign, not for you personally, so DivineAPI never receives your name, birthday or any other information about you. Horoscopes are for reflection and entertainment.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We never see your payment card. We receive a record of your subscription (plan, dates, status and country) through RevenueCat, the service that manages subscriptions for us, so we can unlock Premium on your account.

How we use your information

• To run the app: save your progress, personalize your affirmations, board and readings, keep your streak, and unlock what you've paid for.
• To send your daily reminder and replies to your feedback, if you allow notifications.
• To answer your messages and improve Elie, using overall figures (for example, how many people complete their ritual each week). Our team looks at individual accounts only to help you when you contact us.

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

Services we use

These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide their service to Elie:

• Supabase: database, accounts and file storage (servers in the United States).
• Anthropic: writing personalized affirmations, only if you agreed.
• RevenueCat: subscription management.
• DivineAPI: horoscope text (receives no information about you).
• Apple: Sign in with Apple, payments and notifications.

If you live outside the United States, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States, with safeguards required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, answers, vision board, activity and saved items are permanently deleted from our database. Records we must keep for accounting or tax may be retained without your personal details.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account any time in Profile → Delete account. This doesn't cancel an App Store subscription; manage that in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
• Turn AI personalization on or off in Profile → Privacy & account.
• Change your answers in Profile → Sign & Goals, and turn reminders off in the app or in your iPhone's Settings.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion by emailing support@getelie.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, such as objecting to certain processing or complaining to your data protection authority. We honor them.

Children

Elie is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, your sign-in is stored in your iPhone's Keychain, and every record on our servers is protected so that only your own account can read it. A small team can access accounts to provide support, and every change they make is logged.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app.
